Upper Description

I'm a woodworker and a leather artist/crafter. Photography and astronomy are my passions.

I'm descended from the Shawnee Chief Cornstalk who was killed in 1777.

I am also of Scots-Irish descent and VERY proud of my heritage and my culture. I do not apologize for my culture, nor am I "politically correct", and do not tolerate others who think that it is a necessity to be so.

Nook Simple Touch Handmade Leather Case

I've been using a Sony Reader Daily Edition for the last few years for eBooks, but I recently bought a new Nook Simple Touch eBook Reader and decided to make a new slip case for it (after seeing the RIDICULOUS prices that are charged for quality leather ones). So, instead of spending $100+ extra dollars on a nice case, I made a steampunk Nook slip case. :-)

I did it in 8-9 oz leather and hand tooled the gears on the outside, then I lined the inside with felt for screen protection, and finished it all off with a tan colored dye and hand saddle stitched the edges, burnishing them round, and then finishing the edges with black dye and sealed it all up with leather sealer.

I made it a little oversized so that there was no chance of damage inside and so that it could be snuggle encased with the felt and thick leather.
